Have you ever heard of foam-coating? It’s the name of a process used by Belgian company sixinch that involves upholstering pieces of furniture in foam, then spraying with a flexible, seamless coating to create a smooth and durable finish.
The pieces themselves are intricately carved in a Baroque style. They’ve gone down a storm with the European design market – clients include the boutique Miami Hotel (main pic) and uber-funky Cafe St Michel (below) – and have even been ordered to go into Heathrow Terminal 5.
