Girls: have you ever wished you knew a bit more about home improvement so you didn’t have to wait forever-and-a-day for your other half to get round to it?
Now you can, with the regular women’s DIY training sessions being run by Chix and Mortar. Their weekend courses provide a comprehensive grounding in home improvement basics – decorating, wallpapering, tiling, fitting wooden floors and skirting, drilling, plumbing, picture and curtain pole-hanging, carpentry and electrics – in a comfortable, relaxed environment.
Held around the UK, the DIY courses will not only enable you to save money on expensive work, but also allow you to get as creative as you dare. All training is led by fully qualified tradesmen, and Chix and Mortar is endorsed by the National College of Construction.
Several of the workshops are led by Jason Godwin, who is known as ‘the rock n roll builder’ due to having worked on multiple celebrity homes – Liam and Noel Gallagher’s and Jamie Oliver’s to name but a few. He is also a regular guest on Richard Bacon’s 5 Live show, This Morning and 60-Minute Makeover.
The next course in the calendar is February 5-6, and it’s being held at Thistleworth Tennis Club in Osterley, London.
