An opportunity has arisen for Irish property investors to sell quickly over the internet, with the launch of a new online auction house.

Following the success of MustBeSold.com in England and Wales, the site’s parent company has this week launched a separate domain for sellers in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

MustBeSold.ie allows Irish asset managers and property investors to list their buildings without having to pay an entry fee, with a 21-day auction period beginning the next day.

Properties will also be advertised on Rightmove, as well as appearing in local newspapers and an auction board being mounted outside the dwelling itself.

John Fearnehough, MustBeSold’s director, commented: “Online auctions are such an efficient and transparent way of selling a property, it is not surprising they have become so popular.

“Some outstanding prices have been achieved in England and Wales and the business has become the chosen method of sale for a number of major high-street lenders.”

He concluded by saying that the firm expects its Irish website to be “just as successful” as the England and Wales version.

MustBeSold is part of the Spicerhaart Group, an independent network of estate agents in the UK and Europe, which handles property sales, lettings and management for over 300,000 customers each year.
